Making an Appointment

All clinical departments request “Referral Letter” from other medical institution for new patients.
Without an appointment, you may have to wait a long time.

New patients/ Patients who revisit our hospital after more than six months

Make sure to bring “Referral Letter”
Kyoto University Hospital is designated as an “Advanced Treatment Hospital” by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. Advanced Treatment Hospital is intended for patients in need of advanced medical treatments, and with a referral from other medical institutions.
Patients CANNOT consult any clinical department without referral letter.

Making an Appointment from Other Medical Institutions
Before you visit our hospital, please make an appointment by “Referral System” from other medical institutions.
Without an appointment, you may have to wait a long time.

  • ●If you would like to change your appointment or make a new appointment, call to Appointment Center below.
  • ●We cannot make or change appointments for medical inspection by phone call.

Second Opinions

Specialists at Kyoto University Hospital provide patients with second opinions about diagnoses or treatments of other medical institutions. The purpose is to provide patients with information to choose their own treatments.

Do make appointment in advance

Second opinion consultation needs appointments.
